It even sounds beige*

I’ve been good, I made notes about things I wanted to say!

I mentioned that I spoke with my parents, but I didn’t mention that we’ve changed our visiting plans. We have it set up so we see each other every two years. Weasel and I went there July 2004, they came here May 2004 and we went there for Christmas 2005. So September 2007, we were planning a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.

However, having spoken with my parents now and had a long look at finances we decided that they’d just come here again instead. They haven’t seen the new house and we can actually put them up here this time round, saving them a pile of money. We’ve also been building a savings account together and my parents have about £500 to play with when they’re here next. One thing I suggested was that we take in a posh dinner and an East End play in London then spend the night and sightsee the next day. It was well received so I’m excited to actually do something I’ve always wanted to do.

The other day while browsing 4chan someone linked to a RapidShare PDF of the September 2006 Playboy. I’ve never actually read a Playboy before and I was rather surprised by the contents. The naked was few and far between and all of it was soft core and subtle. There were loads of articles and jokes and even a debate about circumcision in the letters section. There was a pro-choice article too. I was generally very impressed with it.

When Blanketgirl and I talked today, we ended up talking about our books. I said I had one beginning and two excellent ideas. She had four beginnings, two finished children’s book and one good idea. When I explained one of my excellent ideas she got really excited and we decided to write it together. So we each get half to develop and play with then we’ll stick them together and hopefully have a wonderful book at the end.

Remember how I said the landlord wanted to increase our rent by £55 per month? Well, Weasel bravely asked them if there were room for negotiation and offered £25 more per month. Turns out there was room and we got away with £30 more per month. So woo for Weasel.

Today, seven years ago, I packed the last of my worldly possessions into suitcases, put them in my sister’s car and said good bye to my home, parents and my what my life had been for 18 years. I spent the next 24-hours travelling to a far away country that I’d never been to before. I travelled on a plane for the first time. I felt sick, miserable, scared, elated, excited and that everything was so right. I landed in the UK in the morning on September 5th, 1999. Weasel was waiting there for me. We were finally together.
